This is actually old news, but it's good to see that the idea is catching on. Sure, it's a band-aid on the problem, but for now it's a pretty effective one.

The feds wanted to unravel their own patent laws because they "couldn't work without" their Blackberries (if you don't get that one, the company behind those gadgets is being hammered over patent infringements, just like everyone else these days), it seems that NC is wanting to do the same... with its election laws. Excuse me, but when it comes to governments ignoring their own laws, that's a pretty major one to cast aside.
