3 to go...

I finally received the HOA insurance declaration for the new place, after having to demand it or a refund from the property manager down there because of a broken web transaction attempting to get it late last week. Note to property managers: If you're going to charge people for copies of documents needed to facilitate them paying you even more, the least you can do is make sure the bloody system works!

I sent that to the mortgage company yesterday. As far as I know, I only need a policy to cover the contents, and that isn't necessarily needed to score a mortgage, but it'll be nice if the mortgage company agrees with that. I personally don't know what to look for, but the document appears to cover per-unit things like they say they're looking for. I plan to get a policy anyway to cover what I need to do, but it'll be nice to have that not hold up the closing in any way.

As for readiness for the closing, that's one thing, but I still haven't heard anything back from the final underwriting of the loan applications. What I have been told, though, is that there should be some news on that front today or tomorrow. I can breathe a little easier :-)

I would spend some time tonight packing up some stuff to take with me this weekend, but instead there's an HOA board meeting to go to... my last as a member of this one. After the move, I likely wont be itching to get in a similar position, as I only reluctantly accepted the position here. They had tossed out two board members a year and a half ago for essentially stealing funds, and needed replacements... I was one of the few they felt would work well, so they eventually talked me into it.
