Not with the Griswolds, though :-)
I found out today that, even with the hectic schedule that's happening over the next month or so, I'll still be able to take my customary week off at the end of the year. That's great news and I'm definitely looking forward to it. The family dinner is also happening well enough into the weekend that I don't need to telecommute from Concord this year, which is even better. I'll just have to start putting in my bid for the night earlier in future years like I did this time around!
I finished wiring and testing the HD upgrade last night, and I'm loving it so far. It's nice to finally be using the Series3 to it's full current capacity (justifying the price paid), and the room created by last week's hard drive upgrade will be helpful as well. A couple of the local HD channels look like crap, even with decent signal strength, but at least most of them are usable.
The better performance out of the DVD player and PS2 is also good. I'll have to do some digging, but so far only one of the PS2 games that I have does progressive scan on its own. There is, however, some software that should be released in the US soon that will force games that don't have that option to do it anyway. The HD (720p/1080i) scaling they claim to do doesn't work so well (if at all) for most games, but simple 480i-to-480p appears to work quite well in the reviews, and from my experience last night it does make a difference.
Until either the TV or stereo breaks down, then, I've only got one more item on the entertainment center hardware wish list :-)
