No reply from Micro$oft yet, and I seriously doubt I'll get one, but there is a glimmer of hope... for smartphone devices, their "unsigned" level of security doesn't mention anything about applications being completely blocked from installing and running before even getting to the user consent part of it. That's not to say that that detail isn't "missing", but it's a tiny warm fuzzy. Still, I'll be adding something to the purchasing screens for any Windows Smartphone programs to tell users to try installing the software first (which they need to do anyway to register it, but so many people forget). It is shareware, after all... you're meant to try it before you buy it.
