For those that may not have seen the updates on this post, the Explorer is driveable again, insurance agencies are battling for The Almighty Buck (if cash flows in any direction, it'll be from theirs to mine), and I'll be taking the car back into the shop first thing next year to finish up the repair work. All of this within the 24 hours following the accident... this being my first claim with Progressive, I'm definitely impressed.
