Shipping frustrations

A few weeks ago I decided to start looking into taking helixblue's lead and getting a device similar to his (the exact same one, actually) for working with at home. I ordered one last week, and it was supposed to arrive today, but apparently the shipper is one of those few that for some ungodly reason requires an in-person signature on delivery. Why can't they mention this kind of stuff up front, for those of us who generally aren't home during the day to be able to request an exception to the rule? Geez...

At the moment, I'm looking into working from home tomorrow so I can be there for it, and not have to hunt down and pick it up somewhere.
